This is where beta features live. Our **Consensus Picks** remain the backbone of the system. That doesn’t change. It’s the core of what we do, and everything we test is meant to support and strengthen that foundation, not distract from it. At the same time, we don’t want to introduce noise or confusion for people who are simply here to take picks. That’s why most users can safely ignore The Lab. It’s our sandbox. A place to experiment, stress test ideas, and quietly work on strategies that could eventually improve the main **Picks** page. One of the first models in The Lab is a **nightly underdog finder**. Its sole purpose is to identify dogs with potential edge. If this proves effective, the next step will be pairing it with existing models to look for **underdog consensus**. In that scenario, we’d likely only need two to three models aligning to flag a strong dog play. This is currently in beta. You’ll also see a **Signal Summary**, which gives a quick snapshot of how much data supports each pick. More data behind a pick equals a stronger signal. Finally, **Combo Watch** highlights picks driven by the best-performing model combinations. This view intentionally ignores sample size and is meant purely for exploration and pattern recognition. As always, nothing in The Lab overrides the core system. It’s about learning, refining, and building toward something better. Until next time, Chris~ The Otterline
